No, we aren’t talking about a rock band. But we are talking about Asian Beetles. You know, the little critters that look like lady bugs, but try to swarm into your home via any crevice they can fit through. They are attracted to light colors, and once inside they will lay eggs.
This recipe won’t kill them, but you can prevent them from coming in. I personally have trouble with them getting in around my backdoor. Its white (they love light colors) and it gets warm western sun in the fall. And while I read one blog that said paint your house a dark color, that’s not going to happen around here anytime soon.
I use just a 4oz glass amber or blue Boston bottle with a pray nozzle, but you could use any bottle just add more essential oils.
- 10 drops clove essential oil
- 10 drops lemon essential oil
- 10 drops sweet orange essential oil
- 4oz water
Shake well before using. Spray where they are coming in and refresh as needed.
Another solution that works is cedar oil that can be picked up at the local hardware store. It works the same way cedar works to repel moths.
